　　他把自己的一生都献给了大自然。一九九六年八月，星野道夫先生参与日本电视台节目拍摄棕熊计划，于勘察加半岛出外景，却在八日清晨于户外遭棕熊袭击，不幸罹难，震惊全日本。这本书也成为了星野道夫先生的遗作。

　　当时，也是我第一次真正感受到这片土地的广袤，以及那种与世无争却又充满生机、无限延伸的空间。我想，就是这次体验，让我再也离不开阿拉斯加。

　　At that time, it was also the first time that I realized the vastness of this land, and the space, without much competition, was still energetic and vibrant. I believed that after this experience, I can't live without Alaska.

　　东南阿拉斯加古老的森林，流过数万年的冰河、夏季归来的鲸鱼们……正因为有各种各样的故事，才更觉阿拉斯加美丽的大自然，有着耀眼的光芒。
